Awareness of Inner Resistance

Consider your worries, stress and anxiety as caused by a resistance to what is...
Stress starts when we resist what is. If we didn't resist what is, we would be in bliss.
The issue is that most of the time we are not aware we are resisting what is.
We are caught up in the wheels of stress, drama, blaming, victimization, and simply wanting things to be different.
The path to freedom is awareness of the resistance.
And the path to awareness is to pause: to regularly stop, to come back to our center, to listen to the sounds around us, to feel our bodies, to take a deep breath, to notice our connection to the ground, and to take a moment to name what we are resisting.
HOWEVER, when we are caught up in the resistance wheel, we don't think of stopping or pausing, a part of us is actually really enjoying the drama.
The only way to take a step out of the resistance to life as it is, is to cultivate coming back to your center as a practice: something you just do no matter how you feel at least once a day, ideally multiple times a day.
Over time, you train your brain to take a step back and to observe yourself as if from outside your body.
Just like when you see someone else caught up in their drama and you can see their circumstances in a much clearer way from the outside because you're not caught up in their resistance wheel... You can be that person for yourself.
And by the way, this practice is a wonderful precursor to tapping. :-)
