Inspiration

I recently had a conversation with a client who was having a hard time getting started on a project because she was waiting for inspiration to kick in. Does that ring a bell?

  • What inspires you?

  • What makes you push forward and do that thing you said you would do?

  • What takes you over the edge of total procrastination and stuckness into inspired action?

There is often a belief that if I have x, y, and z lined up, for example:

when I'm done with this course,

when I take up exercising,

when I move out of the crabby apartment, etc.

then I will feel inspired to do a, b and c, for example:

start a business that lights me up,

include more self-care in my life,

write the newsletter, etc.

The issue with this way of thinking is that if you are dealing with limiting patterns or unconscious sabotaging behaviors, inspiration will never come.

There will always be a reason holding you back from doing the thing or moving forward.

When I first started my business, there was so much resistance in putting myself out there and sharing my thoughts. I waited for the days I felt inspired to do the thing I needed to do.

But I soon realized it wasn't sustainable, especially because I had some major limiting patterns in that department. No matter how ready or inspired I was, these limiting patterns were holding me back from taking action.

So I did the work I've been trained to do to clear those patterns and I also put structures in place that allowed me to get the momentum going no matter how I felt.

That's exactly what I teach my clients: it's not all go-go-go (masculine energy) and it's not waiting for it to feel right (feminine energy) either. *IT'S BOTH.*

One energy is a catalyzer, it gets you started. The other energy then kicks in and puts you in the flow. And inspiration fits right in the middle of this dynamic.

If you struggle with finding this balance of "catalyzer" and "flow" energies in your life, I guarantee you that once you put these supportive structures in place, it will no longer feel forceful nor lazy, but rather organic and powerful.

Empowerment emerges from these predictable structures and systems in combination with listening to our deeper intuition.
