How to Awaken Your Own Brilliance

At the high of the ebb and flow of life, you most likely had a glimpse, even for a minute, of your own brilliance.

In this tinny window of potential, you might have felt hopeful, empowered, graceful, unstoppable.

Perhaps it lingered for a few days but chances are it faded over time as waves wash off the glorious sandcastle on the shore.

Why is that?

  • Expressing your own brilliance can feel unsafe.

  • Keeping it buried allows you to stay in your comfort zone.

  • If you haven't been encouraged to listen to your intuition and deepest yearnings, and instead followed a path that allowed you to feel safe and accepted, stepping into your brilliance can feel completely unknown.

  • And it takes a lot of energy to move out of the familiar and step into the unknown.

Embodying your own brilliance is not an overnight job but here are some steps that will help you start the process.

1. Become aware of it

First, you need to acknowledge that the brilliance is there. It might be buried under a heavy pile of beliefs, fears, and past conditioning but it is there!

As soon as you come to realize that you were born with this pure potential and your life's work is to come back to that whole authentic self that's always been there, you can start creating space to do the inner work and engage in the process of removing the layers.

2. Start extracting it

Once you've acknowledged the presence of this pure potential within you, there is a space where BOTH the fear and the excitement of expressing your brilliance reside conjointly.

One is holding you back. The other one is moving you forward.

The misunderstanding is that you must get rid of the fears and the layers of past conditioning that are holding you back in order to start expressing your brilliance.

The paradigm shift here is that you must learn to be in the presence of both.

3. Embody it

As you allow yourself to feel in your body the presence of your own brilliance while ALSO feeling the fears, the process of transformation engages.

Take a moment to inquire: what does the fear of expressing your brilliance feel like in your body? Think of stepping on a stage and sharing what you're most passionate about, or leaving that soul-depleting job and starting your dream business? Do you feel a contraction, a tightness?

Now, if you could take a pill that allowed you to instantly express your brilliance even for just a moment, what would it feel like in your body? Would you feel joy, ease, confidence? Would you feel an expansion in your chest, a softening in the throat?

Do you see how you already have access to the feeling of that brilliance in your body?

The practice is to acknowledge the fears, self-imposed boundaries, and limiting thought patterns, give them a voice and tap into the feeling of your own brilliance in your body in parallel.

Conclusion

Over time, the beliefs that once told you it wasn't impossible, that you were not good enough, that you didn't have what it takes, that you would fail, start losing their grip.

You start feeling the brilliance emerging, you start shining your light, you start expressing yourself in empowered ways that feel aligned with who you truly are.

The fears never go away, they are transmuted. At times, they might come back, but once you've started the process of acknowledging and shining your light, you've already taken a sip of the goodness of simply being you.
